Bieber Fever: The uncontrollable urge to listen to, watch and enjoy all things Justin Bieber.
It is also worse than swine flu (which I have also had). He is taking the world by storm and you best jump on the band-wagon or sprain your ankle getting run over by it! This kid just has it, and I can’t wait to see what more he has in store.
He has come SO far in so little time and that is what people don’t understand. He wanted something and he went for it, it makes his story so inspiring. He sang at Stratford Idol in early 2007, and by the middle of the year his soon-to-be manager Scooter Braun found him on youtube and was literally tracking him down. He saw something special in Justin, and millions of people will be forever grateful. He signed with Island Def. Jam records in February of 2008 when he was 14 years old. They’ve signed artists like Bon Jovi, Fall Out Boy, Usher, Duffy Jesi James, Jay Z, Kanye West, Ludacris, Mariah Carrey, Rihanna, Taio Cruz and The Killers.
Until you start actually getting a “legitimate following” (which according to his fans he already did), your record label doesn’t really kick in. So, Scooter put him on the road, and according to him, “There isn’t a DJ in the country who can’t say they haven’t met Justin Bieber.” Well it worked. He would tweet where he was going to be, and 30 kids grew into 100 kids, grew into 400 kids and then, people really started to notice.
Well his label kicked in and they released his My World album in November of 2009 and then My World 2.0 in March of 2010. Summer of 2010 he went on his first tour, 86 shows in 6 months and sold out Madison Square Garden in 22 minutes. In mid to late 2010 he also released singles with Usher, Sean Kingston and Jaden Smith. From June 2009 to June 2010, Justin Bieber made 100 million dollars and had 1 billion youtube hits. Every song he has ever recorded has charted on Billboard, and no other artist in history has ever done that before-ever. The only other artist to sell as many records as he has as young as he has is Stevie Wonder. He goes to church, prays before every meal and concert, and knows that God has blessed him every step of the way. Oh. . .and he can dance.
And he is AMAZING with his fans! I’ve never seen anyone be as cute with his fans as he is. He is just as excited to meet them as they are to meet him, and it really shows. He is very genuine person. He is following more people on twitter than live in his hometown, and one day. . .he’ll be following me, I just know it. (@KadeeTaylor)
He loves his mom and he knows he owes all his success to her and the sacrifices she made for him when he was growing up so that they could have the life that they did.
He knows the importance of family, and always makes time for them in his crazy, crazy life, because he loves them so much!
He goes to school for 3 hours a day and has a 4.0. He gets 1-3 days off a week to be a normal kid, and he is. (Oh, and his favorite color is purple, which is rad).
On February 11, 2010 His movie “Never Say Never” was released, showing all the hard work he has put into his success and how hard he has worked to get to where he is today. Everyone should see it so they can truly understand the Biebs and know that anything is possible and to. . .Never say never!
Oh, and he has a book on the New York Times Best Sellers list. . .No big deal. It is amazing. Oh and a fragrance, fingernail polish and a Dr. Dre headphone line. This kid is the real deal, and I love that I love him. I learn from his hard work and commitment in everything that he does. He always does his best, and I think that is something everyone can learn from.
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were today and he was nominated for “Pop Vocal Song of The Year” and “New Artist of the Year”. He didn’t win either of them but it is such a statement of his career that he was nominated at such a young age, and I am so incredibly proud of him! I cannot wait to see what the future of his career hold and stand by him the whole step of the way! I
So just in case you were wondering. . .Yes, I have Bieber Fever.
And so should you.
